Forty Ways to Know a Tree: Exploring Trees to Understand Nature is a non-fiction nature book written by biologist and environmental activist Joan Maloof, featuring illustrations by Sara Nunan. Published in April 2026 by Princeton Architectural Press (and Riverside Press in the UK), the 192-page book blends science with storytelling through 40 immersive essays that change how we perceive and connect with trees.
